Celtic-Inspired Cables

This was a really fun project to design and make. At the time I had just learned about cables and quickly made the connection between the knitting technique and Celtic knots. I started with the cowl, then adapted the motif to make the beanie. I am not entirely sure why I opted to use buttons to secure the cowl, rather than just joining it in the round with a seam, but I love the way these buttons compliment the motif. I had actually forgotten about these projects but was so excited to rediscover them! The cables on the cowl are a bit worn from use, but I think that adds to the authenticity of the project.
